PREVIOUS DASHBOARD

As MaverickRE evolved from a simple real estate CRM into a comprehensive management platform, its growth outpaced its information architecture. Through audit and research, I found that 68% of dashboard views resulted in zero action, 43% of support tickets were navigation-related, users spent 4 minutes finding basic features, and the dashboard failed to guide users toward meaningful work—the platform needed a complete rethink.

Between learnings from research, user feedback, and an ever-growing product, I narrowed down 3 key challenges to solve for:

SOLUTION

Simplified Navigation

I transitioned from a cluttered horizontal mega-menu to a vertical sidebar that organized features into clear categories. This scalable structure reduced average clicks to core features from 3+ to 1.

Actionable Dashboard

I redesigned the dashboard to surface urgent tasks, performance insights, and personalized to-dos—addressing the 68% zero-action problem with proactive guidance instead of passive data display.

Adapted the platform for on-the-go real estate professionals, maintaining functionality while optimizing for mobile workflows and touch interactions.

Results

  • Reduced task completion time from 4 minutes to under 30 seconds

  • Established a simplified and scalable navigation IA that supports 36 pages across 3 user flows

What I Learned

Comprehensive audits create alignment. When problems are documented with data, stakeholders rally around solutions quickly. Phased rollouts balanced immediate user value with long-term platform evolution.
